On February 8, 2020, the first STARFISH workshop for fishermen was held In Astakos, Greece. The goal of the workshop was to present the project and its benefits, to encourage fishermen to sign up as volunteers to take part in the project and give their feedback on new technologies. Many local fishermen were in attendance, and at the end of the meeting, 50% of them had signed up. Many more joined up in the following days.
